Kinga Modjeska – Actress, director, producer and teacher
A graduate of the prestigious acting department of the Alexander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy in Warsaw and the Second City Improve for actors in Chicago. She teaches acting and communication, both in American and Polish educational centers. From 2007-2010, she held the position of a POLSAT2 journalist and producer on the television news program “Faces of America”. Kinga was also a producer and author of the very popular radio show ‘’Poetry after 2 O’clock” broadcast on Radio 1490AM in 2005-2010. In 2012 she founded the theater
company Polonia Stage with Krzysztof Arsenowicz. For their Chicago premier, the theater presented Alexander Gelman’s comedic drama “The Bench” directed by Kinga Modjeska. As Director, her most important credits are: “Pinocchio” (C. Collodi) “Alice in Wonderland” (L. Carroll), “The bench” (A.Gelman), and “The Wedding” (S. Wyspianski). Currently she is the CEO of the theater Polonia Stage, and the Artistic Director of Studio Theater Modjeska, an acting school that diligently works to inspire future generations of children, teenagers and adults.
Joanna Kapuścińska – Painter, scenographer, costume designer, teacher.
National-Louis University Alumn, Chicago (2004). Obtains a master’s of fine arts from the University of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland in 2005-2010. Expended her artistic education in archiectural design and printmaking. Two – time recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritageof the Republic of Poland honorable scholarship (2008/09, 2009/10). Numerous awards for works in private collections in the U.S and Europe. Actively engaged in artistic education (e.g. Jan Kochanowski School of Polish Culture and Language). Working with Polonia Stage applies her artistic experiences in the fields of scenography and costume design. Teaches art and use of theatrical properties at STModjeska to children expending their knowledge on various art techniques.
Arletta Gromek – Actress, choreographer, dancer.
Arletta was born in Chicago. Her dance career began with Interclub Academy of Dance, where she studied and trained in ballroom, continuing onto numerous competitions across the Midwest. For over 14 years she has danced in the Lajkonik Song and Dance Ensemble, participating in national and international dance festivals. Gromek has a Bachelors of Arts in Theater, along with a Dance Minor from Loyola University Chicago. Gromek has worked with many organizations, including the urban dance program at After School Matters, Taft High School, and theater Polonia Stage. Currently she is also the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the Polanie Song and Dance Ensemble. Her goals are to create a place for children to explore their imagination and creativity, learn more about themselves while pushing their boundaries, and having a fun time doing it!
